The phrase 'is that on brand?' is spoken a lot around PD - occasionally (OK, more than occasionally) it's used when one of us wears a Biggie Smalls sweatshirt to a styled shoot - but more often it is used quizzically as we chat about design details and schematics of a wedding. It can be really easy to fall in love with a certain element (we mean, who doesn't love multi-coloured glitter confetti) and due to that love, easily forget that it might not be so cohesive with your wedding vibe of organic and airy.
Most of our B+G's totally get this (we really are the luckiest planners!) and this past month we were even luckier than usual when one of our B's BFFs asked us to be a part of her bachelorette and help carry through the wedding vibe to the par-tay.
Laura (our B to be!) is getting married in Halifax later this month and is doing bodacious boho bridal to the max (we honestly can't wait to share photos with you guys!). Along with florals, light fabrics and a soft colour scheme, she also is adding in pops of whimsy and kitch (in the perfect ways!) and her bachelorette was nothing, if not, on brand!
Hosted at The Nash and followed up with Korean karaoke at Nanta, Laura and 15 of her nearest and dearest started with dinner before moving on to some she-nanta-gans (get what we did there!). Keeping in line with the boho theme, large balloons with tassels and yarn chilled on the table and friends and family drank her signature cocktail the yoLO (anything that can be a homage to Drake and our B's nickname is beyond golden in our books). Guests were greeted with cookies from Pretty Sweet, which were hashtagged #macmarried (a nod to our B's last name and her love for Mickey D's) and placed in Big Mac boxes tied with perfect bows. Never one to miss out on a good rhyme (or logistical instruction!), framed notes were placed on the table outlining the flow of the night and any info guests needed.
We had the most fun being a part of the night and loved being able to see the wedding vibe fit right in at the bach.
XO - L+S
PS - We weren't planning on sharing this (and maybe had a yoLO or two), so we apologize for the photo quality!
