We think (but we aren't sure) that Transformation Tuesday is a thing on Instagram. If we're right, than we're jumping on the #tt bandwagon, because we are so excited to share the transformation of this space with y'all.
We met B+D wayyyy back in 2016 and over an iced coffee they told us their wedding plans: a short + sweet ceremony in Canmore at the Opera House and then on to a lounge style dance party at the Triwood Community Center, complete with food trucks and live music. Based on this info alone, we were jazzed. But then they shared their vision for the reception space - and we were so excited to get to be a part of it.
The plan was to transform the large venue into a cozy, chic and comfortable space with couches, armchairs, rugs + plants galore. Operation Turn-Triwood-Into-a-Boho-Lounge-That-You-Wish-Your-Living-Room-Looked-Like-With-the-Addition-of-an-Epic-Dance-Floor took a full year. We focused on designing a space that was comfortable (ie. lounge) but that combined functional elements (ie. tables). B+D opted to forgo rentals and instead mastered Kijiji and found amazing eclectic pieces, combining them with custom made benches, tables + a wooden bar. A variety of potted plants, tropical leaves and greenery rounded out the space.
B+D knew that they wanted a fun, causal party vibe and planned it perfectly. There were food trucks (what wedding guest wouldn't be thankful for mac + cheese?), a live band and a DJ, and the most beautiful bride + groom. They rounded their night out with a serious dance party + we rounded ours out with a quick nap on those couches (as comfy as they were pretty!).
The We'll-Remember-This-Always Moments
After B+D's intimate ceremony, guests were to head to the back of the Opera House for a champagne toast with the couple. We had (in an effort to be overly prepared) set up the champagne station prior to the ceremony and when we came out to put on the final touches... we found the sprinklers on and that our champagne station had turned into a (very) wet bar. A few phone calls, rags + a new tablecloth later, we were back in business prior to the ceremony ending, with only our soaking wet dresses as evidence :)
The Wrap Up
Well we were only involved design wise on this one, we loved every second of it. B's vision was second to none and we were so excited we could be involved! A beyond beautiful B, a dapper D and a whole lot of boho lounge inspo below.

A PS From B+D
"We just love Lindsay and Stephanie. They were so fun to work with and had fantastic ideas. They truly helped turn our dreams into reality and supported our vision the whole way through. It was an incredible experience to work with Paper Doll and we are so grateful. Such a beautiful, talented and giving duo!!"
