We don't think it's a secret that our favorite YYC based wedding show is The Bash (when you put cocktails, good music + ice cream in the same place - we will always support!). Which is why we were so excited when The Bash approached us to do some design work for the show. Not only are the ladies at The Bash absolutely lovely, but they let us run with some ideas we've been thinking about for a while, and we were so excited to bring them to life!
Check out our version of SportsCenter's Top 10 below (only with absolutely no sports, and only design…. and also not with 10 moments… so this might have been a poor comparison).

We've been wanting to incorporate balloons in a design for a while now and we finally got our chance with a statement balloon wall. We worked with Calgary Party 50 to create a 20 ft wide by 13 ft high balloon wall that allowed us to bring in a huge, playful element, while keeping it aligned and in the color palette.
How this could work for you: Are there any walls in your venue you don't love? Or are looking for a fun way to spice up your photobooth? A balloon addition might be your answer!

We love a statement sign (and love a non-traditional material!). For The Bash, we worked with designers + handletterers (hey Art + Alexander and Emma Allen!) to create large statement signs that worked for both design + logistical purposes!
How this could work for you: Logistics are the number one thing to consider when planning - so we always recommend including signage (directional, explanatory, cheeky - you name it - we like it all), but there is no reason it can't also act as a design piece! It's also a great way to cover elements that aren't necessarily on vibe for your event/wedding (these guys are covering large Mountie art pieces!).

We are big believers in setting the tone for an event as soon as guests arrive, which is why we loved the registration area for The Bash. We had a large wall done up, brought in an amazing white registration desk and kept it simple by only adding florals and a statement neon sign.
How this could work for you: Who doesn't want to make a good first impression! As soon as guests enter set the tone for the wedding/event with a statement (it doesn't have to be a large pink wall with a neon sign...but… who are we kidding… if you've got the room, go for a neon sign!).

We say a lot that it's all in the details…. And here are a few that we loved from The Bash:
We loved these acrylic side tables that we brought in from The Wise Co (they are based in Victoria). It added a fun modern element to a necessary logistical piece.
How this could work for you: Forgo the classic high top tables for cocktail hour and instead go with an ultra modern approach with acrylic. Bonus: you can add arrangements on top of, or inside the acrylic!
We brought in a statement bar from Modern Luxe Rentals (a great addition to the rental scene here in Calgary) for the welcome foyer for the Bash.
How this could work for you: If your venue has space/doesn't have a built in bar - there are some great options to bring in a bar that plays to your wedding vibe. It can take something that can easily blend into the background and make it a statement piece.
We had the BEST time at The Bash and we hope you did too! We hope to see you there next year...
